It's pretty bad when one of the few relatively reliable sources for news resorts to this sort of cowardly self-castration, refusing to let its film critic accurately describe the documentary "Outrage." They cut the parts of Nathan Lee's review where he names the politicians who are 'outed' in the film, which seems to confuse the review with the film. I've had readers get upset at me for things I've reported in reviews of documentaries, assuming that I agree with the points of the view the filmmakers espouse. Just because Nathan Lee says that Kirby Dick's film says that Charlie Crist is gay, it doesn't mean Nathan Lee thinks Charlie Crist is gay, or that he wants his listeners to think so. He's just reporting on the content of the film, and to censor that frankly only makes it look more like everyone at NPR knows that Charlie Crist is gay but doesn't want to admit it.
